That is the unwritten rule. You dont go out with exwives ex girlfriends or people your friends like. If you are ok with not having a friendship with your friend ever again, than pursue it. BUT if it will hurt you to lose your friend...let her go.

wait until the girl tells your friend she doesn't like him. then wait a little while longer (maybe a couple weeks) before pursuing a relationship. that way he can have some time to move on. i don't agree with the rulle "no dating exes" because if someone is your friends ex, then it obvioulsy didn't work out and if they are hurt over it, it's their problem for not keeping their man/woman. if you are no longer involved with someone, you shouldn't be mad if they date a friend. so don't listen to the crap about exes being off limits.

Talk to your friend about it and see how he feels, tell her how you feel about it. If it comes to the point that he asks you to choose between him and her, then he's not being an understanding friend. But remember that a friend is always more important than some girl, so when making your choice remember who's been there the longest.

Have the girl tell your friend that she really isnt interested, i know it may be hard to do, but it would hurt your friend less than to see her making out with another guy. After she tells him, just wait a while before hooking up so as to not raise too much suspicion.

I think you should first talk to your friend. Try to have him fall for some one else. But don't make it to obvious, then once he is completely off of this girl, i guess you can make your move.
but if i did that to my friend, i would feel guilty, i actually had a crush on the same guy she did. i had to wait a year, but she eventaully got off of him, and now we're together.

No it's the other way around. You love your friend so your heart is saying no. You like the chick so your mind is saying yes.

You kids ask far too many of these questions. Do you actually learn anything in school that counts other than this drivel? Rhetorical.

why can't you decide on your own without asking any opinion..
you are growing up....
if you know how to love...
i think you know how to decide....
