before going out , I think a glass of white wine and a plate of cheese at least 2 kinds and 2 kind of crackers and a small surving of fruit like apple slices to go with it
If it is to be dinner, start with the above and then serve shrimp cocktails and then a special salad with artichoke hearts and hearts of palm and very thin slices of radishes and cucumber and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing.
Then beef stroganoff made with fresh mushrooms and sherry over egg noodles.
Finish with coffee, very fine chocolates, and french pastries. Have cordial available with that or a sweet wine.

You don't mention your plans. Make some mini pizzas with Triscuts, sauce, cheese. Or if more fancy, try some pasta, white cheese sauce and some mushrooms or artichoke hearts. But my favorite would be a wine and some cheeses, grapes and crackers. Romantic.
