Did you know that dogs are 7 years more advanced than a child ? Try it. Get a child under 5 and teach him the same trick you teaching your dog. Believe me, the dog will learn it faster and better than a child would.
It took me 2 weeks to teach my dogs many tricks including opening the doors, answering the phone, house rules, open the fridge and even when wet, they wait outside till their feet got dried up. I wonder how long it takes to teach a kid all these tricks?

Really, when my children were less than 5, they could open doors, answer the phone, house rules, open the fridge and wait until they dried their feet before coming inside. Does this mean that in dog years a dog is 35 when a child is 5 years old?
I believe dogs are smart, but I don't see how they are really smarter than a child.

You might teach a dog to some silly tricks faster than a young child could learn but the difference is the dogs abilities stop with chasing the ball and fetching a stick while a child grows up to become a surgeon, fighter pilot or or billionaire talk show host. Think you're dog can top those tricks?

Dogs advance more quickly than humans because of their life cycle but they are not smarter that humans. If you tried to teach a dog at the equivalent of a 5 year old human ( about 6 - 9 weeks old ) you would have about the same results. The dog you are teaching those tricks probably is the equivalent of an adult human.

okay, dude, jux bcuz ur dog can learn something faster than ur kid or somethin' it doesn't mean thier smarter! dogs are not really smarter than humands, i think humans are smarter, some dogs are jux really smart. but that doesn't mean they are smarter, one day my dog jux opened the door. yeah smart. but lots of people are smarter than that, you can't teach a dog to do math can you?? sure you can say "wuts 2 + 2?" and then teach em' to hold a up their paw or bark 4 times when you say that. and give em' a treat for it, and then yay! my dog is smart... :(
ur dog may be pretty smart and YES it may learn faster than a child but not an older more sophisticated person. yeah i love dogs, i think they are very smart! but not smarter than a human being, but...smart :D help? great. sorry if i insulted you... :(

I would say that a human is much smarter then an animal. Animals run on instinct and if your dog is motivated by food, then yes it will be faster to train your dog. There are dogs out there that take a lot more training then that.

Some days I would have to say dogs. For instance, I have never seen a homosexual dog. And dogs take better care of their babies a lot of times. They don't hold grudges. They are trustworthy. And they don't do drugs.
