Give her a pad.
There's not much you can do.
What the heck did you think you were gonna do?
Just give her a pad, if she complains about cramps, tell her what to do, and just tell her what you know.
My mom tells me way too much about periods because I just started, and I'm grateful.
It's good to know what's happening to your body.

You have to put the Mom hat on and teach her how things are. You also need to leave the door open for any problems she may have along the way (this is crucial). This is your chance to really let her know you are there for her before she starts the 'crazy' years ahead. Good luck.

Explain what the menstrual cycle is to her. Teach her why she needs to use pads/tampons. Tell her it is normal and every female gets it every month.

Nothing! She started and that's it. What kind of a question is this? What would you expect to do? Happens to every young girl.
