How to Help Mexico - Close the Border!
For years I have contended that today’s mass emigration from Mexico to the U.S. is harmful to Mexico. It encourages the Mexican government to export the people rather than solve the problems here in Mexico. It exacerbates family disintegration and social problems while distorting local economies . For Mexico, emigration is like an addictive drug that encourages Mexicans to escape to the U.S. rather than solve the problems here. There are actually people here in Mexico who agree with me on this point. Certainly, the politicians of all parties continue to bash Americans for wanting to control our border. That’s not surprising.
However, some Mexicans have recently made the same argument I have been making. It’s not that they read my articles, it’s just that they looked through the rhetoric and followed the same logic. Primitivo Rodriguez has been an advisor to the Mexican government, and worked in the U.S. for the American Friends Service Committee. When asked his opinion of the U.S. building a wall on the border, Rodriguez replied: “It’s fantastic. It’s the best thing that could happen for migrants, and for Mexico.” As Rodriguez has pointed out, the U.S. only controls its border in a piecemeal fashion. Quoth Rodriguez: “Until now the policy of the United States has not been to close the border to illegal migration, but to detour it. And by detouring it they have caused unprecedented levels of death, abuse and organized crime.” In other words, if you’re going to control the border, control all of it. Sounds good to me.
Primitivo Rodriguez thinks that if the U.S. really closed its border, then Mexico would be forced put its house in order. This is what I’ve been saying all along. Another Mexican critic of Mexico’s emigration policy is Jorge Santibañez, who is president of the College of the Northern Border. Santibañez said: “For too long, Mexico has boasted about immigrants leaving, calling them national heroes, instead of describing them as actors in a national tragedy. And it has boasted about the growth of remittances as an indicator of success, when it is really an indicator of failure.” Amen to that. Emigration is bad for family life. Some Mexican men utilize it to ditch their families and start over in the U.S.A.

The Problem with Dependency?
" I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them 'in' poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I traveled much, and I observed in different countries that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less that was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.
The writings of Benjamin Franklin, Volume 3
(several Presidents quoted him believing this to be true-this did not mean no aid to disable or elderly as Benjamin and others did support that)
In short
Creating dependency would never have the results anyone--especially the poor would want.
We need to not encourage this (and supporting illegal immigration does)-and the people of Mexico needs to work out their own problems.
Cut off all aid-or they will never help themselves,

The best way to help Mexico is to FORCE the illegal immigrants back into their own countries. They will either make it better or they will live in the squalor they deserve. I've always been told, sometimes a person has to be faced with the problem before they are willing to work on a solution. Forced to work on the solution they (maybe) will make changes in their own country for the better. If not, oh well, it's not for the USA to support them if they can't improve on their lives there. Not our problem. Not MY problem!!
*Close our borders
*Deport illegal invaders
*NO amnesty
*NO EXCEPTIONS
**********Support the Minutemen**********

I think we use the Iraqi shuffle on them.
First we wait till the middle of the night. Then we drop about sixty gazillion bombs on them. (This is guaranteed to win their hearts and minds).
Second, we take anyone who stands up against our military invasion and put them in hidden prisons without pressing charges or bringing them to trail. The only time we mention them is when the president needs to go "campaigning".
Third, we imprison what few males are left and humiliate them. While our Haliburton company drains they're oilfields.
Then and finally, we convince the American public that Mexicans are just third and fourht generation Indians and remind them how evil the Indians were.
We then go in and start killing the women and children.. much like we're doing in Iraq.
This will surely make the survivors love us.

Neither. Help your own immigration requirements that are virtually impossible to come here legally. For homeland security purposes, yes make different requirements, dont make it harder. Then majority of Mexicans immigrants want to come here to do good for everyone, that's why I get mad at news anchors that only show immigrants being chased down the desert or being hand cuffed. If theres a problem here in America with the flow of immigrants, then its Americas responsibility to fix it. If they depend on the Mexican gov. to do it for them then obviously isn't going to work out.
Get smarter in the prerequisites on becoming a citizen, having certain level of English communication etc.and profiling in order to keep the bad ones out. Round them up and deport them all just ads fuel to the problem.
ibelieve, the mjority of Mexican national do agree on a wall. However, it is just complete nonsense that the "MAjority of Mexicans agree to this closing a border" That is complete made up lies. Do you know how many people live in the U.S. and work everyday in MExico? You are only quoting people that you just mention that are opposed to the new President of Mexico. These people were Andres MAnuel Lopez Obrador which he just lost the presidential election. These are all political stunts that you just happened to fall for.
