Clearly the Congress is making every effort to stack the deck in favor of amnesty. These hearings are a mute point in my opinion, notwithstanding clever efforts to locate them for the most favorable disposition towards amnesty.
The US Constitution clearly tasks the Federal Government to protect the States from Invasion. Every Federal Officer, every Elected Official, every member of the military takes an oath to “preserve, protect, and defend” the US Constitution. Each has clearly failed to do so as we are clearly being invaded! These efforts appear to be the attempt by Congress to mitigate their failure to meet their Constitutional duties.
Illegal immigrants were law breakers when they came, when they got fake documentation to stay, when they failed to pay taxes; and when they stay.
If Congress opts to give amnesty to these perpetual and habitual law breakers, what happens to all other law breakers in this land of “equal protection under law”? Are we to give amnesty to child abusers, wife beaters, and other professional criminals simply because they have been “doing it a long time”?
There also appears to be a misunderstanding regarding children born in this country. Children born to legal immigrants, in process of naturalization, have always been extended Citizenship by birth. There is absolutely no reason that such benefits should be extended to illegals, whom by their every action are outside the laws and protection of the US Constitution.
Unbelievably, there appears to be an Illegal Alien Tax ID number, indicating that the IRS can identify the home address and employer for 8.7 Million illegals who got tax refunds last year. That would be a convenient place to start the deportation process.
This is not an issue about bus-boys, yard-boys, and hotel maids. It is an issue regarding the Constitutional requirement for the Federal Government to protect legal citizens from invasion by any one. It is an issue of National Sovereignty.
How ironic that we send our military to fight and die all over the world in defense of other people’s rights to determine their own destiny, while our Country is stolen from us from right under our noses because our Federal Officers choose to do nothing. Our Forefathers gave everything that we might live free, and now our birthright is being sold-out by Congress, to the lowest bidder. Disgusting!
If Congress continues in their efforts to downplay this issue, they do so at their own peril.

In my community, I feel that the impact of immigration on public safety has been negligible.
There may be native residents who find the behaviour of some immigrants intimidating (calling or whistling to young women, "hanging out" in public), but I think these are mostly just cultural differences and don't result in physical hazard.
Most people who enter the country illegally are highly motivated and ambitious and don't come across the border to engage in crime--they come to work. I suspect that much of the problem with illegal/unlicensed drivers may stem from prohibiting them from acquiring licenses.
But I admit I haven't seen any actual statistics.

The area I live in has many different cultures. There are many Islamic religous people, Mexicans, and Asian. I am sure there are all immigrants legal and illegal. If you check the local crime statistics with the police department most of them are white and black males that commit the crimes. I belive with all this culture, and diversity my community is a happy place to be. Every smiles at you and they are nice. All races. It's the white people who treat you bad. I have brown hair and I am American and I get treated like **** cause I don't look white. They drive without license cause they can't get one from certain states. As for driving drunk look at our congressman the people who make our laws including not driving drunk. Man of them have been caught breaking their own laws. Lots of people drive drunk not just Mexicans. In Seattle about 4 weeks ago a white intoxicated and high on drug american girl ran a read light going 80MPH in a 35 MPH zone and hit and killed a police man. A Latino Police man. It's not all Mexican and illiegals breaking laws. I do agree though if they are coming here and breaking the laws, selling drugs then they should not be here, but the ones who are law abiding and just working to make a better life have the right to be here.

Higher Crime rates. Yes I know even American citizens commit crimes BUT, What you Pro Illegals fail to realize is that if the Illegals had been Stopped at the Border like they should have there crimes wouldn't be being committed here.. Ever day I turn on the news and there's yet another story of an Illegal that either Killed someone, Robbed someone, Raped someone, Ran from Police in a high speed car chase. It never stops. Illegals Need to be Sent Home NOW.

I can think of two examples in my boyfriends community.
1.A group of people lived next door,1 American woman with a three year old child and 5 Hispanic men.None worked, stayed up partying all night, yet one drove a BMW and the other an Escalade. Two weeks ago, someone broke into the apartment looking for one of the men with a gun, shot a hole into one of the walls.Pretty scary when you live right next door.I guess we can all figure out what they were up to to get those expensive vehicles.
2.An illegal was living in town, was caught and deported a few years back.He made his way back into this country, got caught again and was supposed to appear in court, but didn't show up.One night he decided he wanted to pay a visit to the young woman next door(a friend of my boyfriend) to "get some" in his words. When she said no,he raped and murdered her. This young girl had just told her mother the week before that this guy gave her the creeps because he was always staring at her.She had just moved out of her parents house and got her own place. She didn't deserve this. The man was actually surprised that he wasn't "allowed" to do this to her, after all,she said no to him.
My boyfriends area is over run with illegals, many factories in the area hire them.

This is our problem in Arizona.
Analysis of the latest Census data indicates that Arizona’s illegal immigrant population is costing the state’s taxpayers about $1.3 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration. Even if the estimated tax contributions of illegal immigrant workers are subtracted, net outlays still amount to about $1.3 billion per year. The annual fiscal burden borne by Arizonans amounts to more than $700 per household headed by a native-born resident.
This analysis looks specifically at the costs of education, health care and incarceration because they represent the largest cost areas and because a 1994 study conducted by the Urban Institute, which also examined these same costs, provides a useful baseline for comparison ten years later. Other studies have been conducted in the interim, showing trends that support the conclusions of this report.
As this report will note, other significant costs associated with illegal immigration exist and should be taken into account by federal and state officials. But even without accounting for all of the multitude of areas in which costs are being incurred by Arizona taxpayers, the programs analyzed in this study indicate that the burden is substantial and that the costs are rapidly increasing.
The $1.3 billion in costs incurred by Arizona taxpayers is comprised of outlays in the following areas:
Education. Based on estimates of the illegal immigrant population in Arizona and documented costs of K-12 schooling, Arizonans spend approximately $820 million annually on education for illegal immigrant children and for their U.S.-born siblings.
Health Care. Uncom-pensated medical outlays for health care provided to the state’s illegal alien population is now estimated at about $400 million a year.
Incarceration. The cost of incarcerating illegal aliens in Arizona prisons and jails amounts to about $80 million a year (not including the monetary costs of the crimes that led to their incarceration).
The unauthorized immigrant population pays some state and local taxes that go toward offsetting these costs, but they do not come near to matching the expenses. The total of such payments might generously be estimated at $257 million per year.
The fiscal costs of illegal immigration do not end with these three major cost items. The total costs of illegal immigration to the state’s taxpayers would be considerably higher if other costs such as special English instruction, school nutrition programs, or welfare benefits for American workers displaced by illegal alien workers were added into the equation.
I hope this answers your question .This is what we deal with in our state.

Our area is plagued with illegals who drive drunk, have no insurance, drive on a suspended license or no license at all, and hit and run.
