Sales tax is due at the point of sale. Wherever you take possession of the car, that's where the sales tax is due.

Well a few months ago we bought a vehicle at a dealership. We had to pay the sales tax at the DMV in order to get tags. Although every state is different. Some states may tack on the sales tax in with your payment. I have bought vehicles in some states that do it that way. Just ask the dealership where you bought it at.

It depends on what state you're in. They're all different. In Ohio, yes, you would pay sales tax to the dealer. If your husband is military and the state you live in is not your permanent address, they may have some kind of exemption.

I think it depends on what state you live in, but where I am at you pay the taxes to the secretary of state's office when you apply for the title. They base it on the amount you paid for the car. Hope this helps.

I don't know where you live, but in Louisiana, you pay the sales tax at the rate your home parish (county) charges.

It depends. If THEY applied for the liscense for you, they will collect the tax there.
If they didn't, and you have to go to the liscensing location, they will collect the tax there. Either way, they're gonna get it.
