Compared to the British, we are arrogant (and ignorant).

I'm an American and have never felt that I was arrogant. My money only goes half as far in your country, so actually, I feel that I must hurry and see everything I can before my money runs out. I wish I could afford to come over more often than every 4 or 5 years, but the dollar is just too low against the pound. Sigh....

I think that's a harsh generalisation!
Why are the Brits such t0ssers when they they go anywhere with cheap beer?
I loved some of the answers generated by this question. The best is from the obvious American who mentioned saving our butts in the 2 World wars. As per usual, though possibly factually correct that without American assistance (when you first finally agreed to rent us surplus ships, and then secondly, joined in a few years later after the rest of us had been fighting for a few years) you missed the point.
Whilst America might be the last remaining super-power you have a strange habit of starting most of the acts of aggression that have followed WWII.
I personally love the US, and holiday there every year and find that American are no different from anyone else. I guess you had a bad experience with one recently, but it so easily could been any nationality.

because they are like that in every country in the world. I have been all over the world and they put it down. they put it down no matter what - no matter where they are. Thats why people hate americans the most - however people like tourism and money so when that is concerned it is strictly business so people are nice to them then. They cannot enjoy a place in the context of where that is - everything is judged compared to the states - they lack the intellectual capacity.

What do you base that on. I meet yanks all the time in London, find them polite and interesting. Perhaps the ones you meet are on bail, or have escaped from Alcatraz. OK.

They think they're God's Gift!!!!! Just because they come from America they think they're fantastic (you know, the whole patriotic thing...). But don't get me wrong, they're just as arrogant wherever they go!!!
Deluded, that's what they are...
P.S. To all those of you telling him to learn to spell: his spelling is perfect!!! It's just a slight grammer problem!!

To apply that so broadly smacks of ignorance. Of course they aren't all rude. All English don't wear burberry plaid, smear everything with marmalade and always leave with "Tata!" On behalf of half of my family, I do apologize if you've had a bad one with some of them.
