The Dune series of novels has a pretty good interpretation of what might happen if you could see the future. I think it would only drive you crazy. There is no such thing as a completely good outcome to any one action, there are umpteen-million order-of-effect outcomes from any single situation. Sort of like the old saying about a butterfly flaps its wings in Hong Kong, and you get rain in LA instead of sunshine. If you knew all the outcomes of your own actions, you would probably lose your grip on reality.

Hm. i know it will be an AL crew. little question about that. i do not imagine it truly is going to likely be the Yankees.. i basically can't see them no longer choking back. i do not imagine it will be the Sox both (no longer dropping faith, do exactly not imagine they have a championship high quality crew.) it would want to be the Angels.. they have had an outstanding offense all 365 days and some sturdy video games from Santana and Saunders might want to lead on them to three needed wins. they have received 3 in a row and momentum like that contained in the playoffs might want to lead on to the championship. So my determination is going to be the Angels over the Phillies in 6.

I would find out the consequences of my actions in the near future, then seek to fix any negative consequences by changing my actions. I'm not sure I would want to know when I would die, but if that was included in what I could see, I couldn't help but to look.

Another smasher.
I don't want to know the future, not anything about it. I'll either take it for granted if it's good cause it would no longer be a nice surprise or I'll waste the good days I have now worrying about the bad ones to come!

I would live as I try to do now, with love and compassion for all my brothers and sisters. And do my best to bring harm to none.
I do have a crystal ball, and occasionally, it does show me things.
Aho,

how far along the chain of the 'butterfly effect" would it predict?...if it ran through the entire course of human history, I would imagine I would end up doing nothing for fear of setting off a chain of events that would bring about misery and suffering...

Well I don't people would want it, you'd be living your own life in doubt, me personally I'd smash the thing at least I could have my freewill and not live in fear.
