You definitely should talk to him. You could try something as simple as "Hey, I've seen you around. My name's ______. What's yours?" Or you could point out something to him, like, "I like your shirt." You could even 'accidentally' run into him and drop all your books. He's most likely gonna help you pick them up, and then conversation is bound to happen. And above all, don't worry about rejection. Life's too short to. Now's your chance, so go for it! Good luck.

start by just trying to make eye contact with him and smiling.. once you do that for a while maybe start a conversation about whats hes planning to do after high school... stuff like that.
