I can't agree with that guy more. Water is the best way to get rid of a headache, and a temporary painkiller should work too. Maybe you should identify the source of the headache too. Is something stressing you out? Solve your problem.

I would definitely seek your doctor's advice as they may not be just plain "migraines". Often sinus problems, etc can cause the headache. (The area that triggers my migraines is in my sinuses.) There are a lot of new medications that you can use that don't "make you crazy". I often use a "cocktail" of medications when I first notice a headache coming on and can prevent it from getting worse- I take 2 extra-strength Tylenol, 3 over the counter ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), a Sudafed (the kind you have to sign for at the pharmacy), and, sometimes add a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) if I can sleep as it makes me tired. All of these can be taken at the same time and don't interact with each other. Then wash them down with a high caffeine drink. The Tylenol is just for pain, the ibuprofen works for pain and is an anti-inflammatory drug, the Sudafed works as a decongestant, and the Benadryl is an anti-histamine. The caffeine constricts the blood vessels and helps to decrease the pain in the head. Other than that, see your doc and ask for other suggestions..

First, get off the computer. Don't watch TV either! If you use electronics for too long, you'll get a headache. Second, drink some water and get some fresh air. If you drink enough water, it should go away, but if you can't wait, just take an asprin too.

that would depend on the type of headache you have 1. sinus 2. headache caused by tension 3. noise or lack of eating 4 Migraine or cluster migraine the first three you can deal with yourself by eating putting warm compresses on your face and finding a quiet dark place an your choice of analgesic or rub some myoflex on your neck and rub it in and put a small towel around your neck and lie down get a massage or see a chiropractor # 4 requires medical intervention and the use of Beta Blockers or calcium channel blockers and all of the above now pick which works for you and relax gorbalizer

Here's my Rx.....3 regular aspirin (No Tylenol) and a Coke to wash them down. Bed rest for about 30 mins and you should be good to go. Works like a charm for me 99% of the time! Good Luck!

Well, I recommend a head massage that is the best way your head will feel better. It will make you relax and fall asleep and when you wake up you wont have a headache. So if your married have your spouse do this for you.

Take whatever painkiller you have, then try to take a nap in a dark, quiet place. You should also watch what foods or activities cause the headaches and stop eating or doing them.

When you feel it coming on, breathe in and out of a paper bag for a few minutes. It works.
