I found that the previous posting of this question, as worded, did not convey what I was trying to express. I don't believe anyone has the right to tell another what they should believe or how they should believe. I believe God is much better equiped to do that.

Please Forgive my arrogance if I came across that way to you.

Peace and Love

Should i imagine that you came upon this teaching of Jesus without ever having heard or read his parables? Jesus even says "that by our example of living (as he teaches) will we bring in converts," not following some 'great commission' to spread his word from our own lips. So I agree wholeheartedly.

Yes, we should do exactly that. I usually use suggest that religions, or any spiritual discipline, are to God what exercises are to good physical health. The correlation makes good sense to me: Just as there are many physical exercises which can help one become healthy, there are many spiritual exercises which can help one become healthy.

It's a point which is well understood by theologians. Unfortunately, as religious or theological tenants are passed down enmass, they often become perverted & misunderstood... even to a degree which suggests murder is a godly act.

Most religious diciplines have reached an understanding that we are all, somehow, One. They also appreciate that there are many different paths to God/Enlightenment/whathaveyou. The key is how well a particular path will help an individual grow in an appreciation and understanding of (God/Life/Oneness). In my own dealings with people, I try to encourage them along whichever path will best serve that End... and I'm appreciative of their efforts to help me reach the same End.

I believe in God the way I want to believe in Him, and I'm happy with it because I hate the hypocrisy and suppression of religion. I've been influenced by the teachings of God, and from that, I've done my own interpretation of God. But this approach can be a dangerous one, as we see with the world we live in today. So many wars around the world, including well-known wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and smaller wars in most African nations, are attributed to radicals interpreting their religion improperly. Where in the book of Islam does it say to kill Americans, or the "Empire"? Religion should promote peace, but our world is all screwed up with these dumba**es who have been brainwashed to believe murder is the way to get their message across. We should lead others to God, but not force it upon them.

Then how are we to distinquish between evangelical christians and what the islamic extremists are doing? They are just trying to save souls too.

I believe that God gave us free will, and that includes the freedom to not believe in Him, or to worship Him in different ways. Doesn't matter the religion, we all look up to the same big guy anyways.

People who insist they know the path to heaven or force their beliefs into my life are scary. But they are everywhere, and this country is tolerating more and more of that.

We should NOT be seeking to lead others to anything. If you believe in God, okay. Go ahead and make your own way towards it, him, her, or them. But don't try to lead me anywhere, unless I ask you to. That's like a guy trying to help a blind man cross the street, without even listening to the man when he says he doesn't even want to cross the street. Ask me first, what I want to do, and if I need any help. And if I tell you I don't, don't worry about me. Chances are, I REALLY don't need any help, and I really AM okay on this side of the street. See what I mean?

Oh, BTW, your arrogance is forbidden.

Your question is a little confusing to me. We are instructed to share the Word of the Lord with others. We each interpret the Word of the Lord to some degree. How do we share the Word of the Lord without some interpretation?

Yes, I think we should be seeking to lead others to God, without trying to tell them everything. We were told to preach the gospel, so some things are important to tell people. If you're talking about leading them to salvation, that is through Jesus, and people need to know who Jesus is and how He can save them.

But yeah, I agree that God will take care of the details after. No one has perfect theology. In 1 Corinthians it says that we know in part. We will only really know fully when we get to heaven. So, I think we can lead people to salvation without telling them everything we believe, and they will learn other important things later, and God will reveal things to them as they are learning.

No. There is no compelling evidence that a god exists and many of the worlds ills throughout history were caused by belief in god.

Oh what's the difference. It is a losing game, just a game. I have driven myself nearly off the deep end trying to do what other's aren't doing but insist that I do. It's called B.S. end of the story......
