I'm going nuts here! A good friend of mine was in a relationship for about 6 months (he was her first.) During the entire time they were together everybody told them he wasn't good for her...about 3-4 months ago he ended up cheating on her and broke up with her for his ex. She wont get over it...it's been almost half a year again since she's been single and her entire life now consists of stalking them and crying, she has a hard time eating and she psychs herself out a lot. I've been here for her and tried to talk to her but i think she's honestly developed mental problems and ends up forgetting all advice. I dont know how to tell somebody that I think she needs to seek therapy or get medical help without sounding mean, rude or so forth.

I tried telling her before that she deserves better and to take it as a life lesson but she continues to obsess daily. I even got mean once and said i didnt want to talk to her anymore if she was to continue turning every conversasion into something about him or his gf. She cried..took it and was ok for about a week..then went right back to being psychotic again.

You are a true friend to her, that I can see.If she will not listen to you, then try talking to her parents or a school councilor if you are still in school. Her behavior is not healthy for her or you for that matter since you are good friends. The sooner she can get past this the better for all.

tell her she deserves better!
tell her to chalk it up as lesson learned and to learn from her mistakes and suggest lightly that it might help to go and talk about it with someone....

Good Luck I know how hard it is to see a friend hung up over a guy and I know how hard it hurts to be hung up too!
