He is also so fussy. He crawls out and spit and spill a lot. I have also tried to feed him making him sit. But it is very hard to make him sit in a place or in a chair. He spits everything out.

Maybe he doesn't like the food you are giving him. Try something else
My daughter ate the same food we had, but put through the blender.
She loved it.
The only time we ever gave her Gerber's baby food (because the blender had burned out), she spit it out and only drank milk until the blender was back in operation.
I also had a deal with her. Anything new, she had to at least try it. If she THEN decided she didn't like it, she didn't have to eat it.

the only cereals I am aware of and I fed my child when 8 months old-baby cereal, cheerios. The child SHOULD be Sitting up in a high chair or somewhere-to help prevent any chance of CHOKING, and depending on how many teeth the 8 month old has, for solid foods, best is something like a sweet potato, rice, green beans (cut small) mashed potatoes, try different baby foods for that age. Or put solid foods in a blender to smooth them out a bit-or cut in really small bites. If this child still has problems-and no matter what-please take the baby to the pediatrician and ask your question. and any other questions you may have.

have you ever tried eating lying down ? not a good idea he cannot swallow correctly and could possible choke, also not good for his digestion. If you put him in a high chair there is no way he can get out if you use the straps. try feeding him a bite of fruit then a bite of cereal , that seems to help with a baby not to spit the food out

You should never feed a baby while he/she is laying down.

As for the spitting out of the food, maybe they just don't like it? My daughter is 8 months old and there are some jar foods that she really does not like. She doesn't like green beans at all, carrots either. She does like banana's, squash, chicken, corn, pears, peaches, ham, oatmeal with bananas, and a ton of other stuff.

Maybe you need to try different things? Sometimes there are just things they don't like. You have to find out what they do like and start from there.

It's never easy but I speak from mommy experience. I've had 4 and one on the way. If you make the baby lie down it will upset his tummy. That is why he spits up. And making him lay down IS a choking hazard. My son was very stubborn. I put him in a high chair and had to hold his head still. QAlso too let him start using the spoon on his own. and give him little finger foods. Gerber has them in jars. If u want more ideas e-mail me at kattz1111@yahoo.com

I think feeding a child, especially solid foods, while they're lying down would probably increase their chances of choking. If he's spitting it up, he might not like it. You should try purchasing sample sizes of a variety of foods and letting him test them out so you find out what he will eat.

the only feeding you should do lying down is liquids, like formula and milk. Have you considered changing his cereal? The best place to feed him is in his high chair or a booster seat. You may want to consider talking to your doctor about his behaviour

The best way to feed is to put him in an infant seat and make him busy with all that interests the baby and keep the baby engaged with the thought process and you see the results. Check www.indiainfo.com and Parenting channel in it and you have tons of information on it

You need to put him in a high chair were he cannot climb out, give him a spoon for him to play with. He shouldn't be lying down to eat, just like you wouldn't lie down to eat because it can cause you and the child to choke. He's just learning to eat, that means it's going to come out of his mouth until his tongue is able to push it ot the back of his mouth.

Get a high chair with straps, if your feeding him lying down he can choke to death. Try eating meals with him so he see how you sit still. Plus he's a baby still they are messing, try feeding three of them at once.
