I would try to wet sets. Basiclly your use plastic rollers or rods to curl hair.

Steps:
1) wash & conditions
2) while hair is still damp you roll your hair with a foaming wrap lotion, ex. motions, isoplus, any will do
3) I would use rollers that come with covers its easier.
4) You can buy all of your supplys at Sally Beauty Supply.

Since your hair is permed your going to have to either use an iron, if your not one to deal with the heat. I would go with a rod set or a straw set. It will come out curly and can last for about 2 weeks.

Wash your hair, add mousse and set on rollers.
OR
Wash your hair, braid it and let it dry and take the braids out
OR
John Frieda makes a spray for relaxed hair to give a wavy pattern
you can get it at target
OR
Wash your hair and add BE CURLY by Aveda. I love this stuff.
OR
Wave Nueavo (spelling?)
OR
GET Wet and Wavy braid extensions or a weave, you have lots of options

Try wet setting your hair-either after wasing or use a setting lotion and then sit under the dryer.
