cars are rated from 1-10 on break down rates and cost of break downs on average.
If you search for a car you can find the rated number on web sites.. do a search engine..
a basic run down of rated cars..
toyota, lexus(which is a toyota) is rated on average a 3 or 4
some american made like chevy or ford range from 4 to 6 depending on the make and model.
your classic money pits are jaguars, cadilacs, bmw's and range rovers those vehicles are rated on average an 8 the higher the number the more money you will spend and the more problems you could have...
If you want a low rated vehicle try Honda or toyota first

The best advice that I can give you is that once you find one you like, have a trusted mechanic perform an inspection on it. You don't want to buy someone elses junk.
