Sour Cream is meant to be served and kept cold... if you put it in the microwave the fat will separate from the milk and you will get a clumpy watery mess!

In Short: I would not recommend it!

Yes, you can. Sour Cream in the microwave will melt and boil depending on how long you have it in. It may also destroy the dish you cook it in if you don't cook it in a resilient one.

No because the milk solids will curdle and it will go bad. Don't put it in the microwave. Your stomach and intestines will thank you later.
