He does not actually chew on the cords very often; he just walks up and pulls them right out of the outlet, then walks away! It seems that he is fully aware of what he is doing and the fact that it will stop whatever we're doing. He doesn't spend much time alone and we play with him alot, so I don't think it's due to inactivity. I'm mystified! Any help anyone can offer would be great! Thanks!

If he is using his mouth to unplug the cords. Try putting some really really hotsauce on the parts where he uses to pull on the cord. Or if that doesn't work, try any foods he doesn't like or just really really hates, and hopefully the taste after awhile will repell him from putting his mouth anywhere near the cords.

Strip some of the insulation off the wiring... Seriously though.. mabye put some dog repellent spray around the outlets or tack the cords to the bottom of the wall. Oh yes... I almost forgot... My roomate's Pug hated hot sauce.... A little Valentina's Extra Hot on something she wasn't supposed to get into would send her to the water bowl quickly... It eventually go to where even the slightest smell of it would send her in the opposite direction.

With a Pug it would seem that the plug is at eye height and possibly just catches his attention. He may not be chewing but may be getting somewhat of a tingle and lets go and moves on. I'd try putting some "Bitter Apple" on the cords, if you want to avoid a possible tragedy. Bitter Apple can be bought at any pet store and is better than hot sauce.

It sounds as if he's found that this is a great way of getting your attention, so you must ignore this behaviour totally, but make a fuss of him when he's being good. To save your sanity during this 'unlearning' period I would remove or somehow put out of his reach as many plugs as you can! http://www.ehow.com/how_117300_correct-behavior-dogs.This site might be helpful.

he might nedd more toys. If that doesn't work, firmly say "no" everytime he pulls out a cord.
