emucompboy is correct. Some insects sleep and some don't. The sleeping habits are related to a lot of factors like - feeding habits, eye type, climate of the place. Apart from the nocturnal or diurnal sleep insects also exhibit hibernation (winter sleep) and aestivation (summer sleep).

But, the fact to note is that insects are the most active creatures on the planet. Their energy consumption : body-weight ratio is the highest compared to any other creature on earth. Thus, given the right kind of settings they would rather remain awake always, than go to sleep.

I'm going to say some do and some don't.
Flies, in particular, appear to spend the night in inactivity -- I'd call it sleep.
Argentine ants are on the move 24/7, and never sleep.
