there have been so many people throughout history who have died for what they believe in .. who have suffered at the hands of others
Nelson Mandela and Steve Biko suffered terribly for their beliefs
this doesn't mean i don't respect Jesus ...
but it is well known that when people speak up against the majority for their beliefs .. they will be subjected to much cruelty from others

Jesus called us friends, not "dirty rags". I believe He made great sacrifice for us. He endured incredible pain, so that we may live in the kingdom of heaven.

I know this happened. It is sad and Jesus of Nazareth's persecution was wrong. He was a great man. However, I do not believe that he died for our sins.

this never happened. You follow conjecture

(Qur'an:) That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power,
And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them;-

I know a lot of people who would be willing to do this, considering the cult they could create, and the profit and power that entails.
