I have never heard of the carmelit church. If you look at the word baptized in Acts 2:38 it means made fully wet according to Strong's. I would assume that means water. I don't know how you could be made fully wet by asking for foregiveness.

Peter was relaying what had been taught to him that is not his own teaching, it was the Teaching of Jesus. Luke 24:27 and Acts 3:19 Peter did not write the book of Acts. The Promise did not come that had been Promised till the day of Pentecost Chapter 3:20 of acts the word Christ again translated like Jesus Last name should have read. " and he shall send Jesus Anointing which before was preached to you".
Notice in Acts 4:26 the same thing happens . Christ instead of Anointed.
"The Kings of earth stood up,And the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Anointed."
Peter did a fine job and Luke recorded it right. some translators who were no doubt anti- anointed ( Anti-Christ) used the Mixture of Greek and English to Confuse .

Baptism, according to Jesus (meeting with Nicodemus), includes water and accepting Christ. True baptism is a burial in Christ's authority, symbolized by water. Baptism may include a full submersion in water, but does not require a full submersion in water.See 1 Cor. 10:2. The Israelites were baptized when they went thru the Red Sea, under the 'command' by the Lord (Jesus Christ) to do so, yet they walked thru on dry ground (Ex. 14:22).
As for 'fully wet', in Acts 2:38, the fully wet' component in Strong's concordance (I have one too) is man's addition not the translation of it.

Since this verse is at the end of his speech at the time of Pentecost where he had just received the gift and empowering of the Holy Spirit, it is evident that this saying was of God and not of Peter. You may be questioning the repent and be baptized part? We need to repent (which means to turn back from our life of sin) and the baptism may be either water or be baptized by the Holy Spirit into the family of God.

I believe Peter was glorifiying God and he preached the word of God from his heart.
Read also Acts 2:38- 2:41
Now they who recieved his word were baptized, and they were added that day about three thousand.
The word Peter spoke agreed with the word Of God

If you go up a few verses to Acts 2:4 that was the first indwelling of the Holy Spirit. So Peter was speaking after being filled by the Spirit, not of his own accord. They all spoke after the Spirit told them what to say.

Peter was obeying the Lord. He was only emphasizing on what Christ told his disciples in Matt. 28:19 - He commanded the disciples to preach and baptize those who confess Christ as Lord and Savior. And once you accepted Christ, He sends the Holy Spirit to indwell in you

Peter was uttering a message given to him by God through the Holy Spirit and he was speaking to the very ones that turned against Jesus. When we read on, it clearly shows these ones were deeply regretful over how they had been. So, about 3000 people were saved that day.

In Luke 24:46-47, Jesus said, "And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. "
Notice these 5 points:
1. They were to begin in Jerusalem.
2. They were to preach to all nations.
3. They were to preach in his (Christ's) name.
4. They were to preach repentance.
5. They were to preach remission of sins.
In Acts 2, beginning in Jerusalem (verse 5), men were gathered from every nation from every nation (verse 5), and Peter preached repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins (verse 38). Exactly like Christ had instructed!

Peter was preaching what God wanted him to preach. Peter is explain the whole purpose Jesus came to earth. Jesus came to the earth to die for the sins we should confess to him.

You are either from the Camelite Church or you have been talking to someone that is. Repent and be baptisted. the moment you ask Jesus into your heart you are baptisted into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. Nowhere does it say that water washes away sin. It does not say Repent and be baptisted in water, it says Repent and be baptisted in the name of Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but, have everlasting live. It does not say that whosoever believeth in Him and is baptisted in water.
