When a guy plays dumb and asks a girl for help (and she is 110% sure he knows how to do it without her help)?!

He's starting a conversation because he's interested. Basically, guys will find anything that might get a dialogue going, no matter what it is.

He's breaking the ice. He wants her help too...and this is purely a guess on my part...because girls have a soft spot....(a maternal instinct) that sort of makes them WANT to help someone in need. I don't mean those constantly emotionally needy guys that you can't get rid of, but...if he asks for help from a girl, that does a lot of things.

First, it makes her much less intimidated that she might be if he just put her on the spot and asked her out. If he asks for her help, SHE has the upper hand because he's the one in need, and she's the 'hero' of sorts. That way, he knows he won't scare her off by asking her out, if she's already been empowered.

Secondly, if she says she'll help, then he knows she at LEAST cares enough about him to help him, and that's a start.

Thirdly, helping him sparks conversation. Once the ice is broken by talking about what he needs help with, the conversation can be turned to other things, like asking her out.

Then he is trying to get you interested in helping him and sharing something so that you will have something in common to talk about when you are done, and he will strike up a conversation with you in the mean time and ask you all kinds of things and get to know you better and if your the type of woman he would take home to Mama, then eventually, he may even ask you to Marry him!

But, you gotta help him out first, ok? :)

I wish you well..

It means he wants to spend time with you and get to know you. Either that or he's really want to make sure he's doing it right. Perhaps even looking for a better way to do it. I guess it all depends on what he wants you to help him with.
