No, they share...the same as a waitress will share with a busboy.

I guess I have no salon etiquette because unless I am recieving some extra special treatment why should I have to leave a tip.
You are already paying 30 for the cut and the wash is included then the the 6 you leave as a tip if you also tipped the one washing your hair your hair cut would be costing you 40.

If someone other than my hair dresser washes my hair, I tip her about $2. I wait until the hair dresser is done and I have paid for my cut and tipped her. Then, I find the nice young woman who so carefully washed my hair and give her the money. If she is busy, I ask the hair dresser to give it to her.
I am not sure how it works at other shops, but I have been doing this on my own.
I tip my hair dresser the same as you ($6 for a $30 cut).

This is a great question, but one I don't know the answer to (I don't think I've ever had my hair cut at a place where a different person washes my hair from the person who cuts it). I'm gonna check back for the answer just in case I ever wind up at one of those places.

The cutter is supposed to share the tip with the washer,
but you never tip the boss of an establishment it is considered rude, so if the boss is cutting your hair tip the hair washer directly

Our salon's hairwasher keeps a little basket by the sink whereby people put in tips. I usually give them a dollar and more or less have that ready when I go for that purpose. Sometimes the beautician or barber who cuts your hair give them a tip. Depends on where you go. I'm sure some people do and some don't.

It depends on where you live; if its a major city, then the answer is YES. I live in NYC and EVERYONE expects a tip. It might be a good idea just to ask, "Is it customary to tip here?" If so, 2-$5 is fine...unless its a fancy salon...
