We give our parakeet (aside from regular feed). apple slices, carrot pieces some with the greens, lettuce, bannana slices, also special treats for the pet store.
A vet told us once and I'm not sure I wholly believe this, that a parakeet is omnivorous. It will and can eat almost any food including chicken off of a drum stick. Never tried it though and not sure I will.

Birds get addictaed to sunflower seeds, you need to take away the sunflower seeds all together and just give parakeet food. The longer you wait the more addicted she will become.Thay get cranky with out the sunflower seeds sometimes at first, so it might get a little noisy.
They sell mixed parakeet seed at the store, try that.

You can't let her eat just the sunflower seeds, would be like letting your kid eat just potato chips. My conure would eat nothing but sunflower seeds if I let her, so I've gotten to the point where I feed her every other day, this way she gets the seeds she likes and eats the other food because she has to. Not to her liking, but she is now getting a better rounded meal.

Try giving her thawed out frozen peas, Millet is always good, some chopped up fruit is good too. She may just be picky and you may have to try several things before she finds something she likes other than JUST sunflower seeds.

Don't take away the seed all together, she may stop eating. Try adding mullets to the diet, and fruit, most pet stores have dried veg. or you can chop up fresh fruit and vegetables yourself. Give your bird a verity to choose from, but always remove fresh fruit if it's uneaten.

I don't know if you'd like to or not, parrots are supposed to like penut butter. I've never tried it, but it could work. I suppose? Or you could try putting sunflower seeds in penut butter? it's actually got lots of nutriants and stuff.
