I need an excuse to call my uncle. The real reason I am calling is to talk to the babysitter who I talked to before but stupidly didn't get her number. So now I found out that my uncle and aunt are going to be out tonight and who else but the babysitter is going to be there. So I need an excuse to call my uncles house and then a segway to ask this girl for her number, any ideas? Thank you for all the help. Please no idiotic answers.

You say they r out, so u know that she'll be answering
u don't need to tell her any excuses, just hi .. how have u been .. pick up the conversation about something u talked about the last time... just to break the ice and remind her of u . and then ask her if she's doing anything this " whatever " because u would like to take her to " also whatever " .. don't just settle with the phone number ;-)

Just ask him some dumbass but plausible question like "Where is the family party for Thanksgiving going to be held?" Then when he said "I don't know" or "At the Oddfellow's Hall", you can say "Thanks, Uncle Jeff. . . . By the way, I wanted to talk to Barbie about a math problem we were working on at school. Is she there?"
This way you have "plausible deniability". If someone says you are trying to get into Barbie's pants you can say "Jeez! I was just asking about a trigonometry problem!"

You want to make a GOOD impression? Call her and tell her straight out you wanted to talk to her and get her number. Forget about the excuses, tell her the truth up front. She'll be flattered.

hmmm... you could ask him for a book you heard about and wanted to borrow but the library was out of copies you could say its " A Million Peices" and when (if) he says no ask for the girls number so you can "see if she has it"... I will think about it some more then edit my answer

ugh... sorry, thats all I got for now
