What to do is take the radio out and test all the speakers with a multi meter. A shorted / blown speaker will cause the radio to shut down and go into protection mode ( very often this will damage the radio). How you do this is to get a multimeter put it on either the ohms setting (at its lowest, if the speaker is good the meter will give you a reading now depending what kind of speaker you will have will depend on the number you get. After market speakers will read around 4ohms factory could read anywhere from 2ohms to 12ohms. The meter may not read a steady number, this is ok.) or do a continuity test (this is the easiest because the multimeter will make a beeping noise when the circuit is complete if you touch to leads and it beeps there is a connection and that speaker is good). If all your speakers are good than the radios outputs are blown. In that case you should replace the radio. If you do the test and your not getting a reading (either a number or beep depending upon your test) Go to the speaker in question and place the meter right on the speaker. This will tell you if the speaker itself is bad or the wire run to it.
Below I have pasted a link to Radio Shack so you can see what a multimeter looks like. If your going to buy one which I suggest, get a digital the analog ones are harder to read.
