First of all no one is perfect in a imperfect world. Whether you are a Christian or not your going to do wrong things and sin. Secondly feeling compassion and doing good works are not the main key to the kingdom. They do however go hand and hand with believing in God and His son Jesus Christ. If you believe in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you believe that He died on the cross for your sins, that is your key to the kingdom. By believing in God and Jesus, you may want to become more compassionate towards others and you may want to do good works. Not for your glory but for your Heavenly Father's glory.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ and His Heavenly Father which is God?

Quoting bible verses does not equate to good answers. Why? Because it is not original thought. Think for yourself for god's sake people.
If Jesus existed, than the answer is no. We do not have to be free of sin and deed, that is our nature. Wasn't that the point of Jesus? To save us from our sins?
You can't force yourself to be compassionate or do good works. Either you do or you don't. You can't get a ticket to heaven by faking it. It needs to come from the heart.

We feel compassion anyway. It's a human emotion.

Humans are congretory animals. We tend to form groups. This is how we evolved. It has helped us survive better than other primates that didn't form groups.

When animals form groups, they tend to have compassion for those in the group and enmity for those outside the group. Because humans also developed abstract thinking and imagination, we tend to form many abstract groups, such as countries, religions, football team fans, and knitting circles. Depending on the groups we identify with, we tend to have compassion for some and enmity for others to various degrees.

Most humans, though, have a fairly strongly strongly identify with humanity as a group, so we tend to have compassion for our fellow man. Some feel this bond more strongly than others.

As to the rest of your question, sin is an outdated concept and Heaven doesn't exist. Any 2000 year old list of things that are good and bad really doesn't apply well to the modern age. There is much wisdom in religion, but it also has outdated bigotry, chauvinism and nonsensical social taboos. Religions cause moral laziness by spoon-feeding outdated morality. It's much better to think for yourself than rely on old books.

No,

From a Christian perspective, you are human and will make mistakes. You get into heaven by being in relationship with Christ.

Now then if you are in relationship wiht Christ there will be some outward signs such as good deeds and a forgiving nature but you will never be perfect this side of the cross.

If you truly have the Holy Spirit within you, these things are automatic in you. The Lord has already set aside your "good" works for you to do. And much of that good work is the work you do on yourself. Getting into heaven only requires faith in Christ, the acceptance of Him as your sovereign Lord and messiah, all else is secondary.

Forget about heaven, just be compassionate to others and be a good person. We cannot be free of what is considered sin, we are who we are. Just do good and don't hurt others and you should be good.
