If you mean you've already given one at the baby shower then yes you do. The baptism is a whole seperate ocassion. It's doesn't have to be anything big for a baptism though. You can get lots of small baptism gifts at places like the Hallmark store. You could go in with someone else on your gift to reduce the cost to you.

Are you invited to a party after the Baptism? If so, you may want to bring a small gift. Even though you gave a gift for the baby when it was born, it is customary to give a gift at the Baptism party. You could even give a small gift of money ($10?) to be put in the child's bank account.

The gift doesn't have to be extravagant. When I went to parties for my nieces and nephews, we gave "religious" gifts- like rosaries, small statutes of crosses, etc.

I don't think that you have to take a gift to the baptism, but a card might be a nice gesture. If you are invited to a party after the baptism then I woul take a small gift.

Yes, giving a gift to the baby when he/she is born and being invited to the baptism are two different events. You give another gift to celebrate the baptism. The first one was to celebrate the birth. It is usually a keepsake item, like a cross, silver cup etc etc.

If you have already given a gift, then I would just bring a nice card.
