Social security programs tax those in the active aged groups (whether native born or immigrant, legal and irregular) and subsidize those in dependent age groups (the young and the aged). Thus, immigrants in active age groups subsidize the rest--including the native born.

That article is the most retarded thing I have read on the topic. Look into the history of NAFTA and ask yourself who actually invited those in to make the bed, and under what terms.
United States citizens seem really uneducated if this makes sense to them... wow.

Yes illegal immigrants (which I assume you mean) do pay Social Security, but they cost far more than they pay in. Look up Parkland Hospital in Dallas. A County Hospital completely overwhelmed by non-paying illegal immigrants.

The complaints are about illegal immigration, not immigration, necessarily (though some think we should eliminate all immigration).
You're right, the house-breaking analogy is dumb, as invading people's private living-spaces is not analogous to crossing a border; also, people are paying illegal immigrants to work for them (and its the employers that always prevent the attempts to "stop the flow" of illegals).
You're also right that they contribute more in taxes and spending -- by far -- than they take, as they are not eligible for many services.
Also, it's in everyone's best interest that people get medical attention -- as a public health issue.
No, not all Americans are ignorant hate-mongers, but there are a lot of them, and those who aren't spewing over the airwaves spend a lot of time in YA.
Getting people to attack the most powerless is a time-honored way of distracting them from those who ARE harming them. Just wish it didn't work so well.

Excellent question. I used to date a lady that was here illegally. She was able to "buddy-up" on a S.S. number with about ten other people.
These illegals were taxed by our government but when it came time to get free medical care or any government services, they were NOT able to, for fear of the S.S. numbers being discovered.
I cannot figure out how these poor hard working, under paid people can be draining the system.

A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!!
It explains things better than what you hear on TV:
Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).
According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he, too, is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for, well, you know.
And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an
anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.
Why can't people see how ridiculous this is? Only in America!

Right Wingers like Rush Limbaugh drain government welfair budgets.
There are people who are productive, and people who are not productive. It does not matter if they are immigrants or not.
Right-wingers are a prime example of not-productive.
Canada has socialized medicine, and immigrants are not allowed to partake of it unless they have resided at least 1 year. That might be a good idea for the USA also.

I think you need to be enlightened because a vast majority of ILLEGAL ALIENS do not pay into social security because they work off the books.
This is not a right-wing claim but a simple fact.

There is not an ounce of truth to your damned question. Us right-wingers claim that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS drain government welfare budgets. ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS----ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS---- Now say it 50 times and it may get through your thick skull. Thanks for the 2 points.
