Oh....I'm thinking the opossum....those suckers are nasty....and a known hazzard to outdoor cats. But the result of any fight is indeterminable. You never know, the cat might gain the advantage and kill the ugly varmint. I would hope so....I can't stand opposums.

But it's like asking whether a dog or raccoon would win in a fight. Raccoons can be nasty little beasts, as well. There have been instances where they've hid under the water in a stream, and when a dog came to get a drink or sniff the raccoon out, the raccoon will pull the dog under by the neck and drown it.

Depends on whether or not the cat's declawed, neutered, and acclimated to outdoor life. If the cat were to be the aggressor, then he's got a chance. Still and all, though, I'd put my money on the 'possum.

Depends how big the opossum was. My cats have brought dead ones home but I have big mean cats.

Also, surprisingly enough, female cats tend to be better hunters.

When my Josie comes home and vomits all over the rug, we say she ate someone who didn't agree with her. lol
