I've read that they are one of the longer-lived of the large breeds.I had an Irish setter/Lab cross who liv ed to be nearly 17.She was one of the best dogs I've ever had.RIP my dear old Frittles!

I have had 3. One lived to age 13 the other lived to age 10. I now have a 4 month old.

Until they die.. On a more serious note they according to the Readers digest book on dogs live between 11-15 years longest lived (recorded) male dog of 18

Mine is almost 12 and going pretty strong. Here recently he's had some urinary problems, but treatable with a change in diet. Other than that his ultrasound showed all of his organs are in GREAT shape!! He's wonderful. Love my boy :)

I had an Irish springer spaniel (simliar size / breed) who lived to 16, so hope your dog does too

always remember , the larger the breed the shorter the life span ! a small dog lives for about 17yrs a large dog about 10yrs

Possibly twenty or more, but they are susceptible to epilepsy and other diseases caused by breeding them. Also, I have reasion to believe that they aren't as road smart as some other breeds, so if one ever escaped, it might shorten its life by ending up getting hit by traffic.
