Not in terms of clothes sizes, because those are not all the same. But I've heard that what Americans consider average is considered fat in Italy.

So, for example.....would you think a girl thats 5'11", of medium bone structure, and weight 140 is fat? Thanks for the answers!

well, it depends.. this kind of girl looks average but for example a girl 1.60 m and 63 kg is considered quite fat (said cicciotella)...

I've never heard anything like this.... But you should now that Italians are mostly short and not thin but average...
Maybe that's the problem- Americans are bigger, not more fat, but Italians are small...

And as for you, you're definitely not fat!

the real Italians don't like thin woman to them it is a sign she can't cook and they will have to always go to madonna mia's house to eat . but the new Italians look for the size (2-7) woman my italiano friend is always admiring the slim young woman.never the average or mini shaped ones.

They think anyone whose thighs touch and have the slightest tummy pouch / flabby-ish arms / smallest love handles is fat.
