I was curious if there was any reason that most medicine buddhas (and maybe even all buddhas) are painted blue. Is there religious reason for this? Or any other reason? I'm excited to know! Thank you!

The so called Medicine Buddha (Bhaishajya-guru-buddha) is a symbol for the healing or perfecting quality of buddhahood, which is the same as a clear and luminous mind.

Blue is a symbol for, among other things, the clear light and perfect quality of mind. Clear light and mind both are regarded as luminous, pure and boundless, and hence are likened to space or the clear sky. As you know the clear sky is seen as blue, so: the Medicine Buddha is blue! ;)

All Buddhas are not painted blue. I saw a gigantic golden Buddha in Thailand that was covered with gold by worshipers

i really couldn't comment from a Buddhist point of view .. but blue is a well know healing colour .. this may be the reason for the medicine Buddha being blue .. if not then it is a lovely coincidence anyway

I do not know. You know Buddha left his wife and son the day when the son was born.
