The best way to use deer burger is to have it ground into burger using bacon and not beef lard. Typicall, because deer is so lean, when it is ground into burger they put beef lard into it. Instead of using beef lard, USE BACON...it has an awesome flavor, and you have instant "bacon burgers" anytime you use it. Many of my friends have tried my "bacon deer burger" and they love it.

Venison doesn't have any fat in it, so you can mix it with a little
ground beef and it taste better. Like turkey burger it needs a small
amount of fat. Especially if you are making burgers.
My friend loves meatloaf and when he gets a deer. I make a huge
meatloaf for all my friends.
I mix a little ground beef, and a bit of sausage with the deer burger. I use garlic power, not a lot, but it just enough to give it a wonderful taste. I use onion, celery( mostly the leaves) I use a bit of cracker crumbs, eggs, and tomato sauce. I mix part of the tomato sauce with the meat mixture and put the rest on top of the loaf.
