There are criminals who dont believe in God and follow religion. Shouldnt you come up with a term that recognizes God but without organized religion?

I should state it better. I mean if you do not agree with anyone else's dogma, socalled authority and belief system. Yet you acknowledge a central spiritual source. I think I agree with a few of your answers

All atheists ARE in one categoty. Everybody who does not believe in god(s) is an atheist.

A person who believes in a non-personal diety, who basically set the universe in motion, but has not been involved since, is a 'Deist'.

Around 75% of the US population are Christians... and about 75% of the US prison population is Christian. No surprise there.

About 10% of the US population are atheists... but only 0.2% of the US prison inmates are atheists. No surprise there, either. Atheists are generally more ethical, and less criminally inclined than Christians... except for those atheists who pretend to be Christians, so they can bilk them out of money... folks like Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, etc.

It's much easier to lump people together than anything else. Many Christians, though not all, (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about) have the 'you're either with us or against us mentality' therefore, anyone that is not Christian is an atheist. And as you know, that's hardly the case.

And agnostic means that a person neither believes or disbelieves in God. They have no proof that he does or doesn't exisit. So the term doesn't really fit with her question.

Recognizing God without religion is called Christianity. It is the relationship between a believer and Jesus. There's no religion in heaven and since men created religion, all religions are wrong and only Christ is right. As for the atheists, they are all in the same category, they don't believe in a true sovereign God. They want situational ethics and instant gratification.

Your headline question would not connect with something else of your textual content and that i imagine you're truly mixed up the following. Darwin replaced right into a scientist, no longer a truth seeker which he might want to favor to were for there to be this kind of ingredient as DarwinISM. Evolution takes position, you already know this: many believers do too, others opt for to proceed to be in lack of understanding. Conservative believers look to imagine that the surely options are their god, or atheism; so as a Christian liberal i stumble upon myself being treated like Richard Dawkins (whom i'll't stand) with the help of creationists (whom i'll't stand both). it truly is totally not straightforward, sniffle sniffle. those born-agains do exactly not understand me!

Deists are people who believe in God but not religion.

Many of the founding fathers of the US were Deists.

The vast majority of prison inmates are Christians, both in raw numbers and as a percentage.

a freethinker recognizes whatever you want because you think and believe what you want....if you believe in god and/or spiritual world but you don`t have an organized religion then you`re a freethinker.

If they recognize the existence of God, then they are not atheists, are they? If they follow a religion but do not actually believe in God then they can be called "hypocrites".

If you believe in God but just don't believe in organized religion, you are not an atheist or even an agnostic. You might even be a Christian. So if you believe in God but just don't like organized religion, it doesn't matter how atheists are categorized....you're not one.

Cause they think that they are right. Which to them they are but not to everyone else. The world involves more then one religion or lack of religion for that matter. I think people need to stop trying to shove their religion onto people. This is yahoo Answers NOT a bible thumpers session.
