What's the hot item for toddlers this year? Any suggestions on what to get my daughter for Christmas? She's a little bit behind developmentally due to being two months premature. Any SPECIFIC suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I always start in September as my husband and I buy for our siblings, parents, neices, and nephews. Otherwise, we can't afford it all!

I am going to be getting my 16 month old some of the little people toys. Especially the barn set that has the animals with the furry bits on them (llama has a hairy back, chicken has a softer comb on its head....that kind of thing) or the Noahs Ark, which also has the furry parts. my 4 year old loved getting them when she was little, and my baby now loves them as well.
board books are anoher good suggestion.

Maybe something to play with and something to wear. Get her a nice, durable dress (maybe a size big, so that she can wear it for a while- you know how kids nearly grow out of things before you can get it to them), and a toy that she can't get into her mouth no matter how hard she tries to cram it in. A fairly large, squishy, colourful ragdoll would be great, especially if it has velcro or buttons that she can learn to use.

I love the fisher-price toys, durable with tonnes of play value. My 2 year old daughter's favourites are the little people house and castle, and Geo Trax. http://www.fisher-price.com/us/
