the problem with the dog is its owner you need to be more stern with an animal when its a puppy. if that doesn't work there's always obedience classes he could take the dog to.

i know all about golden retriever's and all golden retrivever's jump at age one. everytime that he tries to jump on someone, have them push the dog back and turn there back. DO NOT GIVE THE DOG ANY ATTENTION WHEN THEY JUMP. also golden retrievers are very friendly dogs and esspecaily puppys get very exited when they see people. so, it people ever come over, either have the dog in a crate untill you see that he calmed down a little. if you don't have or don't want to put the dog in the crate put him on a leash and if he tries to jump pull him back. the dog will advently see that if he keeps jumping he will end up by him self. but, if the dog doesn't jump when people are there make sure you give him a treat or a pat on the head. good luck trying the train the dog!

well the best way to teach a dog not to jump is that you have to make it something unpleasant to the dog it will take some conditioning and is very simply taught if you do it the right way.
First your dogs chest is very tender so what your going to do is walk up to the dog ( it works good if one person is holding the dog on a leash ) an when the dog jumps up on you before his feet hit you you bring your knee up in to the dogs chest fast and hard. that's about it . the reason this works is because the dong don't realize you hurt him he sees it as if he hurt his self and after him getting the same reaction every time he jumps he will teach his self not to jump on people ( I would have the owner start out doing the training at first then have his friends start doing it after the dog has the idea. I hope this work for ya

Golden Retrievers in general are pretty friendly dogs. At that age they jump upon people because they are excited. Teaching the dog no and down are very important. Your voice should be stern but not threatening. Each time the dog obeys give him a treat and excitedly tell him what or good boy (or girl) he is. Food is a great incentive for animals. It wont take long since the dogs aim is to please its owner.

I have the same problem with my dog, and there isnt anything wrong with it, its just really excited to see people and it jumps. since its a big dog, it just jumps higher than say a chihuahua would. He should probably take him to obedience classes to teach him to stop. or everytime he jumps on you or someone else, have them lift their knee up into the dog to push them away and yell no! or down! this will push the dog away without hurting them, and still teach them that it is wrong

Your friends dog needs training. Since, he is one years old their is help for him. If he can't afford training then I would suggest watching the Dog Whisper, it helped me with my dog pulling me when I walked him. I would also suggest that he puts the dog on lease when people enter his home and make the dog sit when people enter. Whenever, he does try to jump tug the leash and tell the dog to sit and stay..Here is a clip that may help

Hes hyper. He needs to be trained to calm down. The owner can do it. You dont need a professional. Its very simple, you tell the dog NO and put your hand on them...everytime he does it. Make them sit, and stay. Keep telling the dog this, and he'll listen. Theyre smart but they need disipline like kids. Thats the only way theyll learn.

when the dog does that your friend needs to gently step on the dogs hind feet every time the dog does that.he will then stop.a spray bottle of water works well also.dogs don't like being sprayed with water.a rolled up news paper also is another way to train this pup.they don't like the noise it makes .

Basically, it's still a puppy. When the dog jumps, hold your knee out, don't hit him with it, let him hit you. Eventually he will realize he can't get to people when this happens and he will stop.
