I do believe a person can deceive themselves to reject Jesus....but it's all the work of satan. God gave us a free will, and if we don't choose Him, well.....we are already damned for eternity in hell. Great analogy with the birthday gift!!!! Love it! :)

Last question first, yes, you do really get it but just do not use it or get to enjoy it. Now as for being deceived, sure they can be deceived as Jesus even said but to be in torment in Hell forever which would mean they have eternal life in Hell, NO WAY!!! Show me one place it ever says you will have eternal life in Hell and I will give you $50,000 cash money. See 1 John 5:12. If you have the Son, you have life but if you do not have the Son of God, you do not have life. What is the opposite of life? DEATH. In Hell you are burned to ashes, burned up, you die. So can you be deceived to go to Hell and die, YES. But can you be deceived and burn in Hell for all eternity, NO!! And by the way the scripture should read that the wages of sin is DEATH, which can be said it is separation from God but it goes even further than that by you dying.

Your personal reality is not my personal reality no matter how often you insist that it's an objective reality and hence everyone's reality.
And Jesus said some thing, made a few promises, made a few threats, SO WHAT. First of all, I don't know if Jesus actually existed, and assuming he DID, I don't know that he said those things. The Bible was written in a time of rampant ignorance and superstition and has been translated 6 ways to Sunday... so pardon me while I don't give a crap about the idle threats of your nonexistent deity.

I don't believe in the forever-torment-in-Hell thing. After death, everyone in the spirit world will have opportunities to repent still and accept Jesus as the Messiah. My views I know are in left field to traditional dogma, but it's what I deeply believe.
There's no better life then in the left field.

Jesus son of Mary PBUT was a human like other prophets of God and he didn't die for the sake of any other human and he can't save him self nor he can save any other human, he needs the Mercy of God like others, this is the truth, an if you don't like it this is your problem but think again because blind faith without evidences is not going to help in front of God in the last day.

In this case you have received the gift but just not interested in what it actually has inside it. Not receiving a gift is you not aware of the gift itself. Now you know so much of GOD's word, and still if you reject HIM, I don't know GOD is the righteous judge. But I believe HE is a just and impartial GOD. He can understand how you are trying to manipulate what HE has freely given you.
God Bless you
Edwin.

we are in a position to be like the guy in answer #2 and persist with yet another faith this is consistent with denying the certainty interior the Bible. All they should do is pray 5 circumstances in line with day and BINGO, they're forgiven.

what?
a person is given the gift of knowledge and understanding by God.
He gives this to us when we humble ourselve, are willing to let go of false teachings, and pray in harmony with our actions, so as to be able to receive the truth.
All who do not know the truth, and are living with the lie, are doing so because God is a reader of hearts, and knows that each ones heart condition is either receptive or not.
THe majority of those who think of themselves as Christian, are in truth liars, as they have no idea that God has conditions with which a true Christian MUST comply.
