I know a lot of people beleive that Jesus is God. There are many who believe in the 'Trinity (Three in one God)'. Jesus never claimed to be God, he only claimed to be the son of God. However, the truth is that it really doesn't matter if you believe Jesus is God or not. The debate has been going on for so long and so vehemently that people have forgotten to check things out. You see, what is important is not wether Jesus is God, but wether Jesus is Lord.
The difference is that if you accept that Jesus is Lord and beleive in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you argue over wether he is God or not, you could be so busy you forget to become born again and miss out on the being saved bit.
So, does it matter if Jesus is God? No. Does it matter that he is Lord and God raised him from the dead? Yes.
Did Jesus say he was God? Not really. He likened himself to God in the way he acted. He stated that those who saw him saw the father because he always did the father's will.
No. I don't pray to Jesus, but to God. But guess what? There are again those who will argue that point too. The truth is, it doesn't actually make a difference so long as you believe that God is listeneing and answers the prayer. It is what we believe in our hearts that commends or condemns us before God, not what we say or do.
I have found quite a few errors in the Bible. Mostly they are translation errors or errors caused by man. Sometimes they are errors in peoples understanding. There are no God made errors there though. As to how many variations of the Bible there are, I suggest not trying to think about it. The Bible is the biggest selling book ever. It has been ever since it was put into print. It has been translated into various languages. It has had many translations and versions by many 'prominent men'.
Jesus is coming back, but not to save anyone. He already made that available. He is coming back two more times the Bible says. Once to collect his saints (those born again of God's spirit who have been saved), and once to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Most people are not acctually aware that Christianity is rooted in Judaism, but focuses on a different prophet, Jesus.
Christianity follow the belief and worship to Jesus Christ, believed to be son of God. They belief Jesus came to Earth to free the Jews from oppression of the Romans. For this Opposition, Jesus was killed (The cross). Jesus rose from the dead and returned to heaven. There view on God is called the Trinity (The father, son and holy spirit). God is Infinite, immortal, omnipresent (Everywhere), omniscient (knows all), omnipotent (all powerful) and sees all. There are 2 major sects of Christianity, Catholicism, and Protestantism, but there are also more. Both have the Holy bible of Old and New testement as their book, and that it is the history of God, and the world.
In other words, they belief they are all one and the same.
There are certainly 'funny' bits in the bible, but what a lot of people fail to comprehend is that the new testement is the stories from the viewpoints of the different apostles (Disciples). This is why Jesus is born twice (Luke 2 and Mathew 2).
It could be argued that God has returned to his final prophet Mohammed, and delivered his final teachings. But thats a different story.

Christians believe in one all powerful, all knowing God. God the Father, God Son and God the Holy Spirit are three distinct persons of the one true God.
When we pray, we pray to God the Father, but through the Son, Jesus or in the name of Jesus. God requires that we recognise Jesus because it was He that paid for our sins in the flesh and on the cross.
There are many instances in Bible where Jesus laid claim to being God. See answers to other questions also.
No I don't think there's anything dodgey about the Bible, neither do I believe there are essentially any errors in it.
As for variations, there are a great many original copies still available of the Bible in the languages they were originally written in (Hebrew, Greek & Aramaeic) and they agree very closely to each other. One confirmation of this is the recently discovered "Dead Sea Scrolls" which also agree very closely. By scientifically applying textual criticism, we know that these documents accurately reflect the original scriptures. As for translations, there are also a great many of them because of the variety in our many languages. They all pretty much say exactly the same thing. We also have access to literal translations from the original languages.
Yes I do believe that Jesus will return to earth, but my understanding is that He will come to Judge us and to seperate those that believe in Him and those that do not. True Christians already know in their hearts that they are saved and that Jesus will not come to saved them but to gather them up and take them home.
I also believe that He is the Messiah that the Jews are waiting for.

They believe in both, but what needs to be borne in mind is that the recording of the bible was done by those who received the words, and education and academic achievement was not so broad as it is today. There were social pressures then that those who were being taught could not find credible,so would not accept some of the teachings therefore by today's standard the teachings are simplistic. This was before electricity, radio, film, loud speaker systems, aircraft, steam /petrol engines etc etc.How credible do you think you would have been to the people then if you tried to describe a nuclear submarine .In fact how credible would you sound today you would have to simplify for a mass audience.Get hold of a Bible most Christians will lend you one or get one for you.The Bible is not dodgy, and there are variations and it is interesting to find out about them.

Jews believe in the same God as Christians, they don't believe in Jesus as Christians do.
God sent his son Jesus down to Earth to save souls. If God and Jesus were the same entity then The Bible would tell us that God came down to Earth as a separate entity! Maybe some of you so called Christians should try reading The Bible before misquoting it's scriptures! Plus Christians don't believe in the Trinity. Catholics do!

no longer all sects of Christianity trust that Jesus and God are a similar or united beings. This change into settled on the first Council of Nicaea. The Arian Christians (now to not be perplexed with Hitler's Aryans) felt that Jesus change into no longer begotten of God the daddy, what the Council decreed. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. Protestants are the overall public branch of Christianity interior the U. S., outnumbering Catholics. Baptists are seen a sect of Protestantism, as is Lutheranism, Presbyterian, Methodists, Episcopalians, etc. Is there a majority of Christians operating the country? Your question is somewhat imprecise. the vast majority of our flesh pressers (community, state, and federal aspect) change into attentive to as Christians, yet that does no longer advise that Christianity runs the country in view that we've an earthly authorities. Catholics are a minority at many state stages of authorities and actually the federal authorities.

christians believe in both God and Jesus. somewhere in the bible, in the new testament to be exact, Jesus is quoted saying "....I am the way, the truth and the light, no one cometh 2 the Father but through me...."
at the Jesus' baptism and at the transfiguration God is heard confirming Jesus as his son.
also practically throughout the new testament Jesus always referred to God as His Father.
not 2 forget the doctrine of the trinity...that is 3 entities in 1...that is God the Father. God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.......thus showing that one could be the other, thereby coming to the conclusion of who christians believe in....God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Christians believe in and pray to both. Jesus is God . If God was to appear face to face with humans, the blinding light force would instantly kill any human. So God arranged His appearance in the form of Jesus so humans could see God in the flesh (back then) without any complications. Yes, I believe Jesus will return. Its been said, if Christians don't like going to cvhurch all the time and worshipping and praying to God, then they won't like Heaven, as that's all you'll be doing. Don't know if that's true.
