yes, you should take your cat to the vet to make sure it's healthy and if they think that your cat should loose some weight if so decrease the amount of food you give your cat by 10% if you cut it back too much and the cat looses weight too fast, it will mess up it's liver.

oh my gosh! of course its possible - you have one! But I think you have to watch kitty's diet closely from now on... you wouldn't want it to be grossly over-weight because that's bad for their heart. I am struggling with the weight of my own cat - he is 8 and weighs 14-15 pounds but vet says good weight for adult male is 10 - 12 pounds.

Yes, it means you're going to have a fat cat. Seriously. Or a really, really big cat. My friend's cat is full grown and weighs 18 pounds!

That is quite heavy. Stop feeding him food that is 2/3 corn. Read the label on the cat food bag.

It's possible. He could have some large breed in him....like Maine Coon. At maturity, Maine Coons can weigh up to 35lbs! But like everyone else said, if he's overweight (and you should be able to tell), that's not healthy.

If the cat is a large breed or is way overfed, then it is possible. But unless it's a largre breed of cat, it's not healthy for him.
