I believe in G-D.
Jesus was born Jewish, followed the Jewish ways of that time and taught the Torah. "Christianity" with all it's attachments was started by Emperor Constantine around 325 B.C. during the Council of Nicea (only Jewish Rabbis were kept out of this council ) because he wanted to remain in power and this new believe in one G-D was becoming ever so popular among the people.
Most people claiming to be "Christians" are only so by word and not by deed, starting from the highest religious and political powers down to the person next door.
Being a Christian means doing and not talking; and that, my friends, tho' it is an extremely difficult thing to do; it well worth it.

Christians believe that the [Christian] bible is the word of God as spoken through the prophets. This is the source of all our knowledge of God.
Now to your question: You will find the word faith/believing (one Greek word requiring two English words). It is an active rather than passive. The Christian believes and has faith in God as revealed in the bible.
One of the requests Jesus made of his disciples is to teach all nations: This is the message of the gospels [good news]. Simply put, God kept his promise with Jesus (the name Jesus means God helps/saves/delivers), Jesus was executed by the Romans at the request of the Jews and God raised Jesus from the dead (our hope for eternal life), and Jesus will return. This is the message in a nutshell.
If you want to know about Christianity, the religion based on Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, then the bible is a good place to start (I recommend the Psalms and the Gospels). Remember the bible is a collections of Eastern (not Western) books. The bible deals with religious matters based on revelation not on science.
One last remark, Jesus told us to teach everyone but not to expect every one would believe (faith/believing).

Christians believe in God. Faith is just the vehicle we use. Our faith is in God and the Bible---His Word. Which, by the way, I would be happy to send you a free easy-to-understand Bible. I will also help you on where to start reading it to get the most out of it.
Back to faith for a second. Faith is not a force. Faith is actually a behavior. Let me explain. Supose you saw me sitting in an airport terminal; and you asked me, "David, do you believe the plane can fly?" And I replied, "Oh, yes! I absolutely believe the plane can fly!" A few minutes later though, as passengers begin boarding the plane, you saw me run for the exit. You'd say to yourself, "This guy doesn't really believe."
Faith is an action. Believing is a lifestyle.
HOW TO BE FORGIVEN BY GOD AND KNOW IT
If you have sincerely given your life to Jesus and are trusting Him alone for your salvation, then God has promised to forgive you—and He cannot lie. The Bible says, "This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life" (1 John 5:11-12). That includes you! The key is to depend not on your feelings, but on facts—the fact of Jesus' death and resurrection for you, the fact of your commitment to Him, the fact of God's promise to forgive you. Feelings come and go, and they can deceive us. But the facts of God's Word don't change, and you can depend on them. Don't focus on your feelings, but focus on Jesus Christ and what He has done for you.
Imagine for a moment that you had a very wealthy relative, and one day you received a call from an attorney telling you that she had died and left you a million dollars. What would you do? You might say, "Oh well, it can't be true"—but would that be wise? Instead, you would probably accept by faith what he had told you, and then begin to act on it.
In a far greater way, Jesus Christ offered you a gift—the gift of salvation—and you have accepted it. Now act on it! Begin by thanking Him for saving and forgiving you, and then seek to live for Him every day.

Christians believe God, one eternal being who exists as three distinct, eternal and indivisible persons: the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Chrisitianity is a religion based on Jesus' teachings and interpretation. Different sects of Christianity have a slightly different interpretation of Jesus' teachings. Many Christians believe that salvation from death and from sin is available if you have faith in Jesus as savior. Faith is like a personal covenant one makes with God (and oneself) to live a loving and compassionate life. You can't just have it, you have to live it. Christianity is believing the God came to earth as Jesus so that our sins will all be forgiven. Those of us who confess this and take God on as our father are saved by the grace of God. We ask him in to our heart and into our lives. We do not claim to be perfect, for no man is without sin. We just claim that by accepting his Love, we are free from the second death in afterlife.

I think it is a special private relationship you only have with him and should not be termed as religion. Christianity is believing that God had a son called Jesus and Jesus died for us so that we could have a way into heaven.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believes in him will have everlasting life.
God is forgiving and understands that nobody is perfect. When you make mistakes through life and if you ask forgiveness from him and believe you have it then you are forgiven.
An amazing place to be.

I believe in God. However, I do believe that the Christian beleif in who/what God is, is flawed.
Christians always refer to God as "Lord," "Heavenly Father" and all sorts of other male names. If everything in this world is either male or female, two forces which depend on each other for balance and survival, then why is there no Goddess?

Yes I do. Christianity is accepting Jesus as you Lord and Savior, and living as close to the 10 Commandments as humanly possible, and studying the word of God. Faith is trusting in God to get you through your walk in life.

Yes I do believe in God. It is through this belief that I get my faith.
We are all to be doing Gods Will. not just the preacher.
It is too bad that all preachers don't do Gods Work.
But use God to do their work.

Christians are SUPPOSED to believe in God, but most of them believe in religion. We are supposed to place our faith in the promises of God, not in the postulations of the preacher.
