My parents have been taking me in and out of hospital but we get the same answers from every doctor i go to. I got a fistula for dialysis in 2000 but i never got to use it till 4 months ago and by then it had stoped working and got the one that goes through the neck and comes out through the chest. I go for dialysis two days a week. I rely miss out on a lot of things especaly my school work and i bearly get to hung out with my friends in week ends and especaly school holidays. Doctors tell me i go for dialyis for another 2-3 months till maybe December or January. Is it worth it?? (If you have any advice that may help please do) I will be waiting. Thank you.

Dialysis is only a treatment and a temporary solution to kidney problems. A lot of patients really benefit from peritoneal dialysis because for some it offers a bit more freedom. Many patients require more dialysis as they grow and get bigger and older. Your best chance for a more normal life is a kidney transplant. Your disease may not be severe enough at this point to be put on the transplant list. Especially if you are only dialyzing 2 times a week instead of the usual 3 and the doc says only til Dec or Jan. The antirejection drugs you have to take after a transplant can be hard on the body and come with a list of complications but the freedom from dialysis is usually worth it.
I had a friend/coworker that was on dialysis for years before his 3rd transplant succeeded. After that he married and had a child and was able to go on vacation and nobody was as happy as he was to be able to pee! Something many of us take for granted.
Since you are younger, you may be tempted to push the limits to see what your body can and cannot handle. Please be careful and follow the advice of your doctors and parents because sometimes the consequences of doing this can have life altering effects. (My coworker/friend used to drink and skip dialysis all the time and then would get sick sick sick. The doctors would get mad at him and then not be very helpful to him when he needed them.)
Because your schoolwork and social life are being affected by your illness I hope that your friends and family can help you out. It would be nice to invite a friend to come with you to dialysis. Maybe you can play computer games together during the procedure or watch a movie or listen to music? True friends would be happy to hang out with you if this is allowed. And maybe you could have a study buddy help you with school work. Though that is usually considered pretty nerdy.

You haven't told us what the problem with your kidneys is but you want answers anyway.
