Most likely the whole litter ended up with worms, but this is not an uncommon event. Most puppies are actually born with worms (round worms usually). Also depending on how clean the breeder keeps his kennels or whereever the puppies are brought up there are other intestinal parasites that puppies can get such as coccidia. All of these parasites are very easy to get rid of and none are harmful unless they puppies has them for a long time. You may not see and worms in his or her poop, alot of times they will just have soft stool. Make sure you bring a stool sample to your vet when you go for the puppies visit (though the vet will most likely de worm the puppy anyway). Also make sure the puppy doesnt have fleas which are the cause of tape worms.
Good luck and have fun raising your puppy!!

All pups are born with worms. The breeder should have wormed her several times before you got her. The breeder also should have kept the pup until it was at least 8 weeks old. The kind of worms you describe is roundworms. Sometimes they do not show up in the stool. If she has a heavy infestation, they could kill her and she can become anemic. I would call other vets and try to get her seen sooner.

More than likely. Both cats and dogs need to be wormed. You should take it to the vet for its first checkup to see if its healthy and have it wormed. You can also buy worming medication at the store and do it yourself. Just make sure the puppy is old enough.

Even though you can't take her in to see the vet right off you can take a stool sample in now and have a fecal test done. Even if your dog has worms you won't necassarily see them. With the exception of tapeworms they usually aren't visible in the dogs stool.
If the fecal test shows she has worms the vet will prescribe the proper dewormer for her size and for the type of worm(s) she has.

almost all puppies get round worms, your vet will worm her as soon as she sees her, it is really not that big of a deal unless it is left untreated for a long time. just make sure she is still eating and drinking, and if she starts throwing up alot, then i would try to get her to the vet sooner.

There's a good chance. Some worms are microscopic though. Don't let her eat her stool, and don't let your cat near the stool. If you can SEE worms, and your vet can't see her until then, try another vet.

Yes, if one of the litter has worms they all do..as they get them from their mother..Nearly ALL puppies are born with worms, so need to be de-wormed routinely..If you just got the puppy, your cat may have worms, but hasn't gotten them from the puppy yet..

All puppys should be dewormed without exception. It's just to easy and to inexpencive not to.
