GOD. It is question for intellects. I have a question to your question . Why do you need some superior force with you. Just because you you want to fill your weakness.
Come on Shridhar. A human being has all the enough faculities which he is reluctant to admit.
You are looking for the place to find God but I dont see the need for God. Wake up. use your life to do whatever good you can. I beleive in my strengths I will do my best always and I have stopped to feel the need for God.

where are God? First let me correct you it is where is God? God is not plural it is single. There is only one God.
Your answer lies in this one sentence, depends how you read it. "GOD IS NOWHERE." If you are non believer, you will read it "GOD IS NO WHERE." and if you are believer than it will be for you,"GOD IS NOW HERE." God is omny potent and omny present. He is every where in every item and atom of this universe. One needs the eyes to see him, Refer to Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta, chapter 18th where God shri Krishna says to Arjuna," I was here before even the sun and I will be there when there is no one else. One may call me with anyname I will answer as long as the prayer or call come from within the deepest deep of one heart and soul. He says He is in mountains, he is in Rivers, oceans, Trees, Leaves even branches.

Secondly, name of the place is your heart, within you and everything or everyone else.
The great poet saint sant Kabir has said in his dohas"Kasturi kundal base, mirg doonde ban mainye." Just like the kasturi(musk) lies in hiran's belle(naval) and he smells it but he does not know where the smell is coming from and he looks everywhere in jungle. We humans are like the mirg(the hiran) we are looking for him every where, mandirs,masjids,churches, and gurudwaras while he is hiding inside us playing hide and seek. some times he even give hints but we are so blind with all this material things and so called faiths that we have totally for gotten that one place where to look? The HEART.
