I set up a wireless network, but when I connect my laptop it says acquiring network address?

and then I can't get online , even though I am connected. I have tried to repiar the connection ,that doesn't work.My laptop can connect to other networks with no problem and I am using I netgear wireless routerWPN824, however I do not have a usb adaptor/or pc card. Can I manually put in the IP address and connect. if so tell me how NETGear charges for customer support!! grrr

How would I manual input the proxy setting on the laptop

check your proxy settings, and also your tcp/ip configuration, such as ( ip address, subnetmask, default gateway, DNS, etc..), and also contact your ISP if it didn't work.
