There are tons of recipes for baked spaghetti, I am goign to send you one, but I want to give you my tricks. Always you know what you like, and your family likes. Go with that notion. NMake it your own recipe. I always layer my spaghetti first then add what ingredients we love meat, so hamburg sausage, pepperoni, bacon, kinda like pizza(which sometimes i use pizza sauce and pizza seasoning to zip it up) Mushrooms (for friends and family i add pepeprs and onions I do not like em)Add tons of cheese mozzerella, provelone, cheddar. I love ricotta i mix with the spaghetti sauce (told u i love cheese LOL) Layer like lasagna. If you dont have time for all of that just make it as you would on stove, mix together and throw into casserole, top w cheese, and bake. I love white ones too, shrimp ad alfredo, with peper flakes, spinach, chicken with brocolli with a cheese sauce like chedsar.
But heres a recipe to guide yourself..

I make a good baked spaghetti that came from my grandma. It's the boiled pasta, homemade sauce, cut up bite-size cooked chicken chunks, and along with a mound of cheese of choice...sliced green olives. I LOVE it.

Cook the noodles, place noodles in baking pan, pore tomato sauce over noodles, top with cheese, and anything that sounds good on top the cheese, bake till cheese is melted and slightly brown.

1 stick unsalted butter
2 pounds ground turkey
2 medium jars spaghetti sauce with roasted garlic
Pinch dried oregano
Pinch dried parsley
Pinch salt, plus additional salt for pasta water
Pinch pepper
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (1-pound) box rigatoni noodles
2 (1-pound) blocks mozzarella cheese (not the soft kind)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large skillet, melt half of the butter over medium heat. Add turkey and cook until browned. Add tomato sauce, oregano, parsley, salt, pepper, and onion and simmer until onion is tender.

Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling, salted water until a little less than al dente. Drain and cool. Cut 1 of the blocks of cheese into cubes and slice the other into thin slices. Melt the remaining butter and pour into the bottom of a deep 9 by 13-inch baking dish. Pour 1 1/2 ladles full of the sauce into the dish, or enough to completely cover the bottom. Add a layer of pasta and then a layer of cubed cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.

Fill 1 of the empty sauce jars 1/8 full with water and shake. Pour over pasta. Top with the thin slices of cheese, and sprinkle with additional oregano and parsley, if desired. Cover casserole with foil and place in oven. Check every 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove foil for last 5 minutes of cooking to brown cheese.

you can change the meat/ to beef pork or anything.......it's baked ziti....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baked ziti with meatballs................you can put spaghetti instead

1/4 cup plain dried bread crumbs
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons milk
3/4 cup grated Romano
1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 pound ground beef
All-purpose flour, for dredging
1 pound ziti
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
5 cups tomato sauce
3 cups whole milk ricotta
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/4-inch pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine bread crumbs, eggs, milk, 1/2 cup of the Romano and the parsley, and mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Add beef and gently combine, being careful not to overwork the meat. Shape into bite-size meatballs. Roll each meatball in flour to coat, shaking off excess.

In a large pot, bring 6 quarts of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain pasta in a colander and set aside. If not using immediately, cover top with plastic wrap so that pasta does not dry out. Do not rinse pasta with water since you want to retain the pasta's natural starches so that the sauce will cling to the ziti.

In a large skillet heat the oil over medium-high heat. When almost smoking, add meatballs in batches and without moving or turning the meat, allow it to brown for about 3 minutes. Turn meatballs and brown other side. Continue to cook until all sides are golden brown. Remove meatballs to a plate.

In a large bowl, combine the tomato sauce and ricotta and mix well. Add the cooked ziti and meatballs and toss gently.

In a large greased baking dish, pour in pasta mixture. Sprinkle the mozzarella, Parmesan, and remaining Romano all over the top. Dot with the butter. Place baking dish on top of baking sheet covered with aluminum foil to collect any drippings from the dish. Bake until top is golden brown and bubbly, about 30 to 40 minutes.
