Others have pretty much answered your question, so there isn't much I could add to that topic. I do want to say "Thank You" for your sacrifice and service to our country. It is comforting to know that there are many fine, young men and women, such as your self, who are willing to keep watch over the country. The things you do, the places you go and the people you meet while in the Air Force will help to make you a more well rounded and successful individual.
P.S. You'll meet a lot of cute guys too!

in your tool bar type in military base pay 2006 sorry I dont know the exact website but I have it on my desktop going in as a 0-1 its almost 2400 a month. I dont know what rank you will go in as you would have to ask the recuiter The base chart wont tell you your bah or bas because it is different depending on where you are. If you are stationed in CA you will get more then if you were in Ny NOT only that but if you dont have dependents you dont get BAH because you are in the barracks. They will determine what rank you go in as by a grade determination waiver. MY husband went from the Marines to the Army and it took almost a year for them to determine that he could keep his rank. so if you have a good recuiter he will fight for you to get you as an officer. I know some one who had a BSN in the army and she didnt com in as an officer at all. So stay on top of them and dont let them push you around Good Luck

It doesn't matter what your degree is in once you are in the Air Force.
You would start out at a little over 2400 a month(although this will likely be higher in 2007), and with promotions and experience you would be at over 3,000 a month pretty quickly. Keep in mind there are other benefits and housing allowances etc so the pay is a lot better then it looks.

Base pay for an O1 with under 2 years in is slightly over $2400/ month. But you would also have to take into consideration BAH and BAS if you qualify, other incentive pays, as well as deductions like Taxes and whatnot...
Early promotion opportunties are fairly standard and pretty much automatic.. but oince you get to O4, things become more competetive.
