I beleive in God, but I find it hard to understand how murders in prison and even ones not in prison can just be saved, and that's that... their going to heaven? I mean... Isn't that saying that you can do whatever you want, and then be saved and change your ways, and it will all be ok? What about all the people that are trying to lead a good life? I think it's great that people get saved... but this is just an aspest of christianity that has always confused me i guess.

Oh and if you do kill someone and then become saved.. doesn't it kinda defeat the purpose of the 10 commandments? And how come adam and eve didn't get another chance?

when a person sins, whatever it may be, rape, steal, kill, whatever... it doesn't matter, we are ALL born sinners and without salvation we would ALL be going to hell. all sin is equal, there is not one sin worse than another. once you become born again, you ask for forgiveness, repent and try to live a better life. who are we to judge who should go into heaven and who shouldn't? everyone deserves a second chance.. just be thankful that you got the chance too. i know i am!

Yes they can if they truly repent. If you want proof, look at Kind David, a man after God's own heart. He had a man killed to have his wife and God forgave him, did He not? So why is it so hard to believe He can forgive someone that goes to prison for murder? Just because he is not a king does not make it any worse. The purpose of the TEn Commandments are to show us what sin is, where we are going wrong and what the right way is to get where we want to be. If we lie, it is the same as killing as it breaks the same laws that say do not kill. To commit adultery is just as bad as killing or stealing or lying. If you break one of the least of these, you break them all. This is what Jesus said. Murder is no worse than lying, cheating on your spouse or stealing. Any of them can get you into Hell. As my wise grandmother said, "you can go to Hell for lying the same as you can for stealing." And may I add, the same as you can for murder. Breaking the law is breaking the law of God and if you do so, you will go to Hell unless you repent and are really sorry for doing what you did and resolve in your heart not to ever do it again. God knows the heart but we only see the outward part. He is the ultimate judge and will go by what is in the heart. Many of the so called professed Christians will not be in Heaven that we thought were so great and wonderful and some we thought were really bad will be there. God knows the heart and that is what really counts.

No people can not do what they want and be saved. They must when they hear the truth, accept the Holy Spirits calling, repent of their sins and ask for the Holy Spirit to take over every little part of their heart and He will help them resist the tempetation to sin.. THey must not go back into sin on purpose or they will be lost as they crucify the Lord Jesus all over again as He died to save them out of their sins and so the Comforter( the Holy Spirit) could have acess to their hearts, minds and souls. If we do not purpose to sin the Holy Spirit will convict us of our sin and bring us back to repentance and the more we let Him in we will find our very nature changing and our thoughts becoming pure.

Going to Heaven becomes a do-it-yourself/ Heavens- made- Easy thing... if a mere lip service in a faith in a Savior is the do-it-all thing.
A Faith, however logical, if not supported by deeds, is a joke, not a Faith. And the deeds have b e e n specified.. beginning with the Commanndments, followed by Ethics, Morality, Code of Conduct, civilised Behavior, concern for the Humanity at large..Mylord Jesus strived throughout his life. Did he not have faith, to be assured of a high Place ? Why should the followers of Jesus not strive for an entry into Heaven ? and depend only on a flimsy faith... not on deeds and a strive ! My apology if I have offended some one.

No one is truly saved. We can never know if we are truly in God's Book of Life until He decides that for us, either in His Great Day of Armageddon, or after Christ's Millenial Reign. Either way, even hardened criminals can repent of their sins and try to live a God-honoring life. We are all accountable to God. Only He knows our true heart condition. Adam and Eve were not forgiven because they put all of us where we are today, slaves to sin and death. They stood in the way of God's purpose.

That has always confused me too. From what I have read, no matter what you do in life, if you accept God you will go to heaven. I just really don't understand that. If you have murdered (which is obviously a big sin) how can you be forgiven by just saying that you accept God? How do we know that they actually have, and aren't just saying that?

we do not have kill rape or steal to miss out going to heaven. There many thing we do that can make us all miss out on going to heaven. God give us all a chance to repent from our sinful ways. When you are saved it is a daily way of life. Something you do can help a person turn his or her life around. As a christain you are suppose to be christ like. Search yourself first and do not judge other if they do not come up to your standards.

"Saved" is a buzzword, and when you think about it so is heaven. The story goes "Accept Jesus christ into your hearts" but if you just say it that's not the same thing as doing it. Theoretically, you could create the (rather self-fulfilling) arguement that those who murder cannot truly accept Jesus into their hearts until they consciously realize what they did was wrong, and that they were wrond; in short, they have to become difference consciousnesses. A person who would be willing to continue to murder is of a heart and mind that has not accepted Jesus, even if they think they have.

But hey, I'm agnostic, so what do I know?

Yes this is true.....

God is compassionate, merciful.
God loves all of us the same, everyone of us no matter what sin you done, because God knows that we all have the ability to change, and be transformed, as long as we ask for forgiveness with sincerity in our hearts.
God knows your heart and thoughts, therefore if your thinking I'll do some sins, and ask for forgiveness, and I'll get a way with it, noooo God knows that this guy plan this this way in his heart, therefore this isn't sincerity of heart. You cannot trick God.

Yes, they can be saved. Sin is sin. We are all born sinners, there is nothing we can do to not be a sinner. We all need salvation. If a person truly repents and accepts the gift of salvation then they will turn their life around and won't be committing any heinous crimes again. Hopefully!
