Guess what I used to pick berries in Ok. so did my brothers, this was how we earned money in the summer time. Not only did we pick berries but we used to scour the neighborhood for cans, talk about dirty work !!
But the point is if you let the local teens in your area know that you need the workers they WILL show up !! They might even learn something from the experience.

When people only do this to make a point, and only hire people for minimum wage, which is below a living wage, and only hire the inexperienced whites to compare with the experienced Mexicans, they get the result they've manipulated instead of the reality. You're still not for real...furthermore I HAVE done field work, and I hope your 'berry farm' takes one below the waterline when the immigration laws finally start getting enforced, for having employed people illegally, and for having failed to modernize.

Use a little 20th century technology, a little 21st century imagination/ingenuity, and you could AUTOMATE your berry farm pretty much 100%, well 90%, someone still has to taste-test, but they say they've got a robot now that can tell between different kinds of wines, so...envision really long conveors/rollers with berry-boxes in them...sliding lazily along under the california sun...
at about .005MPH, throughout the growing season, stopping at the soil moisture measurement station, the watering station, the visual inspection station(there's a job, right there), and finally to the harvesting and packing station. Well I guess the illegal Mexicans are to lazy in Florida, they can't find anyone to pick their crop of oranges this year, it was on the news, the price of oranges juice will be going up, because most of the fruit will rot. Sorry, but they are to lazy, its a impossible mission, what you can do is to put a message in a Mexican border city newspaper like a lot of Americans do, looking for mexican workers, it seems there are not enough illegals in USA yet.
