In a microwave add it to two cups of water and at HIGH power it will be ready in 8 mts.

On a stove top, two cups of water and rice added together. Bring to a boil with the lid half on top. Once the water boils cover the rice up and cook for 5/7 mts. Remove the lid and see if you see holes in between the cooked grains of rice and the water is all soaked up. this means your rice is ready. if your see the holes but the rice feel uncooked and there is no water add 1/4 cup hot water cover and cook for a few more minutes.

If you are cooking 1 cup raw brown rice and using 2 cups cool water...you wait until it starts to boil, put the cover on (no peeking!) and SIMMER for 30 minutes!

Visions cookware is a good thing to use when cooking rice. If your heat is too high, you will see when the water is cooked out!

1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water, bring water to the bubbling boil, add the rice cook until the water has evaporated almost so its bubbling like (volcanic mud) thick turn off the heat and cover with a tea towel, that way the rice is cooked through and stops it sticking. Hope this helps.

2 cups water. Bring rice and water to a boil and turn down the heat. Set timer for 25. It should be done. Some can be 45 minutes. If its still watery, leave it longer.

Keep in mind that standard brown rice takes twice as long to cook as white rice, although there are some quick brown rice products available. Brown rice should be used within 6 months because it has a high level of natural oil within the outer bran layer making it subject to rancidity. Brown rice may be refrigerated or frozen for longer shelf-life.

Rinse the brown rice in a strainer while your pot is heating on "medium" on the stove. Put the rinsed rice in the pot and stir it over the heat for a couple of minutes, toasting it until most or all of the "hissing" has stopped (i.e. the rice is dry or nearly so). Then add the water (3 times the amt. of rice), bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. Then drain the "extra" water.

it depends on the way it is cooked. If you cook with a pressure cooker, it may take a 5 minuites or within 2 whistles. Without cooker, it may take even 15-30 minuites depends on the quality and variety of rice.

Soak it over night. If you bought the rice in a bag, rinse it and then soak it overnight again. If you bought it in a box, you don't need to rinse or soak it any more. Go to the store. Put it in a pot with two three or four cups of water and then boil it and then turn the fire down to a much lower temperature. Cover the pot. Don't look at it. When it's done, turn the fire off and put the pot into a bowl. Simmer. Add butter salt and hot sauce. It might take a while, it might take longer. You can tell when it's done when you eat it.

The story I hear about cooking any rice,in any form, rice cooker, pot on the stove, the 1st thing to do is rinse the rice, just like you'd rinse potatoes. The big difference is you need to measure the water to the amount of rice, other wise your rice will be mashed rice, which really is terrible!
